Style and Colour: Spontaneous Ales Aged in Oak Barrels
Taste: Tears of St Laurent is a dark purple beer with a rich character of grapes, plums and sour cherries. Spontaneous fermentation and years of aging in oak barrels provide a wine-like experience.
Alcohol: 6 % ABV
Drinking Temperature: 8° C
Fermentation: Spontaneous fermentation. Aged for a minimum of 24 months. The grapes are sourced from Wild Creatures' own vineyard on the southern slopes of Pálava. These hand-picked St. Laurent grapes are among the most aromatic in the region.
The Brewery: Jitka tasted her first spontaneous beer in Belgium back in 2011 and immediately fell in love. Being a winemaker herself and with her husband running a small local brewery, it was not long before Jitka decided to combine these two worlds to found the Wild Creatures Brewery.
Food: Excellent as an aperitif.
