Chocolate and beer, the perfect match: discover 6 beers to enjoy with chocolate

Have you ever tried to combine beer and chocolate?

A perfect marriage! The aromas of beer give an unexpected depth to the chocolate and enhance its taste.

Beer My Guest has selected 6 large beers that go extremely well with chocolate.

1) Lindemans Framboise , this Lambic with raspberry provides powerful aromas of raspberries with a note of caramel and a hint of sourness at the end, characteristic of lambic beers.

2) Liefmans Goudenband, with its sweet, slightly fruity caramel flavours, happily coats the essences with a dark chocolate with more than 70% cocoa.

3) Gulden Draak, the beer of the famous legend of the dragon, with its few notes of apple, cherry, caramel and coffee (emanating from the wine yeast used for its fermentation) is divine at the end of the meal with a selection of chocolate pralines.

4) Bush Ambrée, one of the strongest beers in Belgium with its 12% ABV, and its bittersweet taste is an excellent choice to accompany a chocolate dessert such as chocolate pudding or chocolate mousse.

5) Straffe Hendrik Quadruple ,brewed with a refined mix of special malts, the beer has a complex character, which combines a clean dryness with hints of coriander, dark fruit, anis and roasted chestnuts.

6) Malheur Brut beer, brewed according to the Champagne method, perfumes any chocolate dessert with its peach, apricot, vanilla, orange and lemon zest flavours.

While restaurants often advise and offer wines to enhance their dishes, it is extremely rare to find chefs or sommeliers to suggest great beers as an accompaniment.

And yet, the world of beer is just as varied, complex and exciting as that of wine. The great beers offered by Beer My Guest offer a multitude of possibilities to accompany dishes from the great cuisine.

If you are a chef and you offer beers in your restaurant to accompany your dishes, send me the information so I can talk about you. It's so rare and precious.

If you want to cook at home with beer, you will find great beers with suggestions and recipes on www.beermyguest.ch

Enjoy!
